Summer is here! It is a great time to be outside and enjoy the beach, whether you “head down the shore” or are “going to the beach” we’ve got a list of some great summer activities coming up. Make sure you stop by and see us before, located off I-95, so you don’t have to pay beach prices for all your beer, wine and liquor needs.
Delaware Beaches:
For those 21 and up, check out the Dogfish Head Brewery Tour. The Brewery is located on Rehoboth Avenue and offers various tours. One of the most popular is the Beer and Cheese Tasting Tour. The tour includes the history of the brewery and finishes up in the tour-exclusive bar where you will try three different beers and cheeses and learn why they pair well. It even includes a souvenir pint glass to take home. Afterwards, make sure you come see our large selection of Dogfish Head beers to fill that new pint glass at home!
For a family friendly option we have the Bethany Movies on the Beach. These family friendly movies are shown on the beach in Bethany every Monday at dusk from June through September. From “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” to “Blue Hawaii” they have something everyone will enjoy.
First Fridays at Schellville are another great family friendly option. The first Fridays of each month at Schellville offer live music, roller skating, food trucks, and more. You can also enjoy a beer or cocktail in the beer garden.
If you enjoy live music be sure to check out the Rehoboth Bandstand Summer Series. Every Friday through Sunday at 8 p.m. until Labor Day the bandstand features various live music groups.
If you are feeling ambitious you can check out the 42nd Annual Sandcastle Contest at Delaware Seashore State Park. Check it out on July 9th at 9:30 a.m. all levels are welcome from amateurs to experiences builders.
Jersey Shore:
Do you like beer, music and crabs? Then look no further. Check out the Craft Beer, Music and Crab Festival in Cape May on July 23rd. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Emlen Physick Estate enjoy hard shell crabs, food trucks, craft beer and live music on the outdoor stage. CBS New York named it one of the top five New Jersey Summer Festivals. Check out our large selection of craft beers afterwards to keep the festivities going!
Wacky Wednesday at the Ocean City Music Pier on July 13th at 10:30 a.m. offers a chance to become a french fry sculptor. Check out the French Fry Sculpting and compete with up to 200 other participants. It is open to all ages and free to participate.
If you are in Wildwood check out the Boogie Board Races on July 16th. It is open for anyone ages 5-17 and located on 15th Avenue at 9 a.m. Awards are given out for the most creative, longest ride and best overall ride.
Another family friendly activity at the shore are the Family Nights in Ocean City. Every Thursday in July enjoy family entertainment between 6th and 14th streets on the boardwalk.
Check out some BBQ and Blues at the shore! The New Jersey BBQ Championship and Anglesea Blues Festival are July 8-10th in North Wildwood. Enjoy cooking demos, food and live music and it is within walking distance of the Anglesea Inlet, a free beach.
