5 Vodka Cocktails to Try This Summer

Is there anything better than a cold cocktail in hand on a hot day? We don’t think so! Summer is our favorite season for many reasons but most of all – because of endless refreshing and delicious cocktail options!

Every season we love sharing entertaining tips on here so our customers not only can buy beverages in our store, but they can also have quick resources for anything from hosting parties to yes, mixology! If vodka is your preferred choice of drink, make sure to try these 5 recipes this summer. Cheers!

5 Vodka Cocktails to Try This Summer

Fountain of Youth

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz Tito’s Handmade Vodka
  • 3/4 oz St. Germain
  • 3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 2 sprigs of fresh mint leaves
  • 2 oz Mionetto Prosecco

Method:In cocktail glass add Tito’s, St. Germain, lemon juice and the leaves from 1 mint sprig. Add ice and shake vigorously.
Strain over crushed ice. Top with Prosecco. Garnish: Remaining mint sprig and orange wheel.

Tito’s Sweet Green Tea

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Tito’s Handmade Vodka
  • 3/4 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 oz Honey Simple Syrup (recipe below)
  • Green Tea

Method: Combine Tito’s Handmade Vodka, lemon juice, and honey syrup in a mixing glass and shake until proper dilution (10-15 seconds). Fine strain into a chilled Collins glass. Fill Collins glass (or mason jar) with fresh ice and then top off with Sun Brewed Tea. Garnish with a thinly sliced lemon wheel placed onto the side of the glass and a sprig of mint.

To make Honey Simple Syrup:  Combine 1 part honey into one part water. Stir until dissolved. 
Garnish: Lemon Wheel and/or mint sprig

TitoRita

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz Tito’s Handmade Vodka
  • 0.5 oz triple sec or orange liqueur
  • 1.5 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1.5 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup

Method:Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well, and strain into a cocktail glass or over ice.

For a spicy kick, add three slices of fresh jalapeno to the shaker.
Garnish: Lime wedge or wheel. If you like it salty, rim your glass before mixing and pouring your drink.

Water-Meli Cocktail

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 oz Tito’s Handmade Vodka
  • 2 oz fresh watermelon juice
  • 1/2 oz fresh squeezed lime juice
  • Ginger beer

Method:Combine Tito’s Handmade Vodka, watermelon and lime juices in glass with ice. Stir to combine. Top with ginger beer and serve. Garnish: Lime Slice.

Tito’s All-Time Favorite

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz Tito’s Handmade Vodka
  • 4 oz sparkling mineral water
  • Slice of orange
  • Slice of lime

Method:Combine Tito’s Handmade Vodka and mineral water into cocktail glass with ice. Stir and garnish. Garnish: Orange and lime slices.

Interesting March Madness Facts

  1. The tradition of cutting down the nets is credited to Everett Case, who coached at North Carolina State from 1946-1964. He snipped the nets after his team won the Southern Conference Tournament in 1947.
  2. The term “Final Four” was originated by Cleveland Plain Dealer sportswriter Ed Chay while referencing Marquette’s tournament run in a 1975 piece. The term was first capitalized on the NCAA’s 1978 basketball guide. 
  3. Michael Jordan was just a freshman when he hit arguably the most famous jumper in the history of what is considered the best program in college basketball history. With 15 seconds left in the 1982 national championship game against Georgetown, MJ’s jumper gave the Tar Heels a lead they wouldn’t relinquish and coach Dean Smith his first title.
  4. Final Four games have been decided by a single point 16 times. You remember the most recent one — North Carolina beat Oregon, 77-76, in the 2017 Final Four to advance to the championship game.
  5. The Texas Western team that won the 1966 national championship was the first team with five African-Americans in the starting lineup to win the title. It was one of the most important cultural moments in sports, not just college basketball.

If you’re still putting your romantic dinner plans together, make sure to add these 5 lovely Valentine’s Day Drinks to the menu. We guarantee you’ll fall in love with them!

5 Valentine’s Day Drinks to Fall In Love With

Soft Love

  • 3/4 ounce creme de bananes
  • 3/4 ounce cherry vodka
  • 3/4 ounce heavy whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon grenadine

Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice and pour in all ingredients. Shake well and strain into a cordial glass. Recipe courtesy of Mix That Drink.

Vesper

  • 3 ounces Gordon’s Gin
  • 1 ounce vodka
  • 1/2 ounce Lillet Blanc

Fill a shaker with ice and pour in the ingredients. Shake until it’s cold. Strain the mixture into a champagne saucer. Garnish with a slice of lemon.Fill a shaker with ice and pour in the ingredients. Recipe courtesy of Mix That Drink.

Love Potion

  • 3 oz. Gin
  • 1 oz. lime juice
  • 1 oz. elderflower liquor
  • 5 oz. rosé Champagne

In a cocktail shaker combine gin, lime juice, and elderflower liquor. Add ice, and shake for 10 seconds. Strain cocktail over ice in a cocktail glass, and top with rosé Champagne. Recipe courtesy of Cosmopolitan

Nectar of the Gods

  • 1 (1.5 fluid ounce) jigger raspberry-flavored liqueur
  • 1 1/2 fluid ounces agave nectar
  • 4 fluid ounces champagne, or as needed

Stir raspberry-flavored liqueur and agave nectar together in a tall, thin-sided glass using a spoon. Tilt the glass at an angle and pour in champagne. Recipe Courtesy of All Recipes.

Evening Shade

  • 1⁄2 oz. lime juice3 slices cucumber
  • 2 oz. peach purée
  • 1 1⁄2 oz. corn whiskey
  • 3⁄4 oz. Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur
  • 1⁄2 oz. PAMA pomegranate liqueur
  • 2 sprigs lemon balm

Muddle lime juice and cucumber in a cocktail shaker; add peach purée, whiskey, liqueurs, and ice. Shake vigorously and strain into a Collins glass filled with cracked ice; garnish with lemon balm. Recipe courtesy of Saveur.
