This year’s 100th Annual Wilmington Flower Market & Music Festival will kick off the busy month of May beginning on Cinco de Mayo. Beginning Thursday, May 5th to the 7th at Rockford Park. This event will rock the park with live music, great food, beer garden, and rides for the kids. Of course there will be Plants & Flowers donated by local gardeners or nurseries.
The area’s most prestigious event is Winterthur’s annual Point-To-Point that will be held Sunday, May 8th. There literally is something for everyone — the Delaware State Police Pipe Band, Parade of River Hills Foxhounds, Keystone Region Rolls-Royce Owners’ Club Antique Auto Display and Parade of Antique Carriages.
Many tailgaters go all out as ‘fashion experts’ comb the crowd to determine the best dressed. Winner receives a $500 Gift Certificate to Christine A. Moore Millinery, NY and a $500 Gift Certificate from Wilmington Country Store. Even if you don’t plan on tailgating, strolling through the tailgate area is an experience in itself.
