As a party host, you may worry that your bar isn’t fully stocked for your event. Running out of alcohol will not only cause you more stress, it can also make for some very cranky party guests. Don’t let this happen to you, use these tips from Tri-State Liquors to ensure that your well doesn’t run dry!

How to Stock a Bar for a Party or Event

  1. Get a good headcount of the number of guests you expect and round this number up a bit to accomodate any unexpected party crashers. You can always use leftovers as encouragement for 4 am stragglers to continue their party elsewhere!
  2. Take a peek at Tri-State Liquor’s Party Planning Table to get a rough idea of how much alcohol you should have for the number of guests you expect. For 50 people, expect to purchase many bottles of liquor, 3 bottles of red, white and zinfandel wine and a quarter keg of beer.
  3. Be aware of your guests! If one of your girlfriends will drink an entire bottle of wine on her own, you may need to plan on having some extra wine. If lots of your guests nurse their drinks, you may be able to cut back a bit on the alcohol budget.
  4. Don’t forget the mixers and garnishes! You’ll generally want 2-3 bottles of mixer per bottle of liquor. Keep in mind the strength of drinks your guests (or bartender!) are likely to make! Pick up some lemons, limes, cherrys and other garnishes.

If you still aren’t sure how much alcohol you need, come into Tri-State Liquors today and one of our team will help make sure your party goes of without a hitch.

As always, drink responsibly. Friends don’t let friends drink and drive!
