There’s nothing more American than Baseball and Beer. They just go together. With opening day just a few days behind us and the Phillie’s home opener against the Padres coming up next Monday, we thought a little discussion of how beer offerings at baseball stadiums across the nation have changed since the beginning of time.

With stadium names such as Miller Park, Coors Field and Anheuser-Busch, it clear that beer has big presence in baseball. Sipping an ice cold beer and watching a baseball game on a hot summer day has long been one of America’s favorite past-times.

Thanks to the craft beer craze, fans are no longer forced to spent top dollar for subpar beers. Many stadiums have upped their micro-brew and local brewery offerings, making watching the game much more pleasurable.

Citizens Bank Park, home the Phanatic’s fans, offers a wide variety of local craft and micro-brews. The city of Philadelphia has been a beer city since the turn of the American Revolution and was known as the greatest brewing city of the Western Hemisphere up until Prohibition in 1920s brought the brewery boom to a sudden halt.

Since the craft beer explosion that began in the late 1980s, Philadelphia has regained its reputation as one of the premier beer cities in the nation and around the world. ‘GQ’ dubbed Philadelphia as the ‘Home of the Perfect Pub Crawl’.

Citizens Bank Park offers the following local brews: Anchor Brewing, Dogfish Head Craft Brewed Ales, Flying Fish Brewing Co., Samuel Adams, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., Sly Fox Beer, Victory Brewing Co., Tröegs Brewing Co., Yards Brewing Co.

‘All Aboard The Express’ is a craft beer express that offers two pub crawls each year and allows participants to enjoy the finest beers Philly has to offer. The nearest event takes place this Saturday, April 9th from 11 am to 6 pm.  Tickets are limited and are $10 prior to the event and $15 on the day of.  Click Here for Details.
