4 Spooky Drinks to Try This Halloween

 

Dark ‘n Stormy

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces dark rum, preferably Gosling’s
  • 1/2 ounce fresh lime juice (optional)
  • 1 candied ginger slice
  • 3 ounces chilled ginger beer
  • 1 lime wheel
  • ice

Directions: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the rum and lime juice and shake well. Strain into an ice-filled collins glass. Stir in the ginger beer. Skewer the ginger slice and lime wheel and garnish the cocktail. Recipe courtesy of Food and Wine.

Apple Cider Mimosa

Ingredients

  • 4 oz. brut champagne
  • 2 oz. all-natural apple cider
  • 1 oz. cinnamon whiskey
  • 1 slice of apple, for garnish

Directions: Mix cider and cinnamon whiskey in a champagne flute. Top with champagne, then stir lightly until incorporated. Garnish with an apple slice. Recipe courtesy of Esquire.

Monster Mash

  • •2 3/4 oz. Absolut Elyx
  • 1/2 oz. fresh lime juice
  • 3/4 oz. simple syrup
  • 2 slices jalapeño
  •  4 basil leaves

Directions: Muddle jalapeños and basil leaves in a mixing glass. Add vodka, lime juice, and simple syrup. Shake and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a jalapeño slice. Recipe courtesy of Esquire.

The Black Widow Smash

  • 1 1/2 – 2 ounces tequila or Mezcal
  • 8 fresh blackberries, plus more for topping
  • 1-2 teaspoons fresh rosemary, plus a sprig for serving
  • Juice from half of a lemon
  • 1-2 tablespoons honey
  • a couple dashes of orange bitters
  • sparkling water, for topping

Directions: In a cocktail shaker or glass jar, add blackberries, rosemary, lemon juice and honey. Muddle all of the ingredients together, squishing everything to release the juices. Add the tequila and orange bitters. Add ice to your glass and strain the drink over the ice. Top the glass with a little more ice, pour the sparkling water over, and gently stir to combine.
